Drugged Up

This may or may not make sense. I've been trying to do some writing since I'm pretty much stranded on the couch. I can do some simple writing and reading but anything beyond a paragraph and the words start to jump all over the page. With a full page of text and I started to get that glazed look and my eyes just close. I'm half asleep most of the day.

It's the pain pills they have me on. They work okay but the real side effect is that I fall asleep at the most inopportune moments and that I can't seem to do any real reading. Jeff went out and bought me a lap desk which is just wonderful but even as I type this it is difficult to see the words. I'll try to keep something posted but I can't pretend that it will be anything good. Right now I'm sitting on the couch, watching Scrubs, dozing off, and pretending to write. I also thought about taking pictures of my foot. They changed my bandages today and it was so incredibly gross that even Jeff got a little nauseous. And that's saying a lot. I don't think my feet should have that many colors. I found it mostly fascinating but I think most people would have been sick. I won't subject you guys to pictures although I'm tempted. Or maybe just high on pain pills.

Hi Cat,
First off - take pictures of your foot! You will be glad you did in the future. You don't have to show anyone, but when YOU look at them, you won't believe it.
And then those great pain pills! I thought that when I was confined to the couch I would crochet an afghan for my wonderful MIL. Then I looked at it when I was done with the pain pills and had to rip it out and start over. Just sayin'.
Love ya!

Thanks QoE,

I will take some pictures although I promise not to post them. It is pretty incredibly in a disgusting sort of way. And I'll be happy to look back after it is all healed.

I'm not even trying anything as difficult as knitting. I wish I could since I have a ton of time and some late gifts I was working on. But when I can't even read a magazine article in one sitting, I know that I'm not mentally capable of handling a pattern. Thanks for the words for encouragement. I know you've probably seen your share of broken limbs and emergency room trips.

Try writing surreal erotica. I'll bet it would be a hoot to read a couple of years down the road.

When I had my wisdom teeth out, I got some doozy pain pills.

I went to school the next day.

I went to English class (first period), and the teacher must have noticed my distress, 'cause she looked at me and asked, "Are you ok?"

I replied, "Oh, I'm fine, I'm on drugs!"

I sat in my desk trying to figure out why she looked so horrified, while my friends told her the long story.

Ahh, good times. :-)

Susskins, I might have to try that. Although my stuff would be a bit off even if I was sober.

Lon, I can relate to that. I keep telling people that I'd love to read more if I wasn't so stoned. Nothing like being on drugs (even legal ones) for some interesting reactions.

Em, I do have pictures. Alissa saw them this afternoon. But I won't post them here. You'll have to come see me if you want a good gross out. It's not fair to the rest of my readers who may not have the strong stomaches we do.
